Maleficient Paper Roll Craft

Hello guys, the Mini Makers are so glad to be back... this time with a craft project.
We just caught Maleficient in the cinema today on its premiering week, and we loved Angelina Jolie's titular character so much that we decided to get started with our own version of a toilet roll craft for her Maleficient character.

Materials Needed:
1. Magic pens
2. Black marker pen
3. Toilet Roll
4. Goggly eyes
5. Scissors (optional)

1. Use a pencil to draw an outline of Maleficient's face.
Then use the black marker pen to trace over it.

2. Colour in Maleficient's horns using a black marker pen.

3. Next paste her eyes in and colour her mouth red.
Outline her eyes, nose and mouth using the black marker pen.

This is how Maleficient should look like.

4. The next step is optional. We decided to cut out Maleficient's horns to make them stand out a bit more so that they look more 3D.

Here she is... Maleficient, the hero and villian all rolled into one... made from toilet paper roll.

Minion Paper Roll Craft

Hi guys, the Little Mini Makers made a very cute Minion paper roll craft a few months' ago, but we had been too busy to post it up on our blog. Finally, here it is. We made this cute little guy using unwanted toilet paper roll and an old blue glittery nail polish.

Materials Needed:
1. Toilet roll
2. Yellow construction paper
3. Blue nail polish (or blue paint)
4. Large goggly eye
5. Black marker
6. Super glue


Materials needed are here. But pls ignore the yellow ice-cream sticks.
They are not needed for this craft.

1. Wrap the toilet roll with yellow construction paper.
2. Use a pencil to draw the Minion's eye, mouth and overall.
3. Then use the blue glittery nail polish to paint his overall, and let it dry.
4. Then use super glue to paste on the large goggly eye.
5. Lastly, use the black marker to outline his eye, mouth and overall.

There you have it --- your very own cute little Minion using old unwanted items!


We also came across a cafe in The Cathay called Bricks 'n' Cubes which had cute little Minions made of legos. Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Monsters University: Mike Wazowski Paper Plate Craft

We brought our kids to watch Monsters University recently and they really enjoyed the show.
Their favorite character is the adorable little monster called Mike Wazowski.
So I decided to do a Mike Wazowski Paper Plate Craft with my kids when we got home.
I came across a beautiful website by Kimberly that has printables for Mike Wazowski.

So I just printed out the template for Mike and simply replaced his body with a paper plate.
Then I got the kids to paint his body light green and then pasted his body parts together on the paper plate. Lastly, I simply attached a string on the top of the paper plate so that we can hang Mike Wazowski on our door. :)

- Paper plate
- Light green paint
- White paper (print template from http://learncreatelove.com/?p=5225)

1. First step is to paint the paper plate light green in color for Mike Wazowski's body.

2. Then continue painting the rest of his body parts light green in color.


Leave them to dry.


3. Then cut out his body parts and glue them on the paper plate.




4. Lastly, glue string on the top of the paper plate so that you can hang Mike Wazowski on your door.

Batman Peg Magnet Craft

We went to I12 Katong today and happened to chance upon an Art {&} Craft session held near the stage.
Children can participate to make their own favorite Superheroes such as Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman using pegs.
To participate, parents will first need to register them at the Concierge with a minimum $30 receipt.
Below are the steps on how to re-create your very own Batman peg magnet.

BATMAN PEG MAGNET
Materials Needed:
- Peg
- Black crayon
- Black cloth
- Foam (yellow and black)
- Batman logo printed on a piece of paper
- Glue
- Double sided tape
- Magnet

1. First, colour the peg black using black crayon.

2. Print the Batman logo onto a piece of paper, then cut it out in a circle.
Next cut out the same sized circle on a piece of black foam.
Then glue the black foam at the back of the Batman logo.
This is the "head" of the Batman. Glue the black foam on the top of the peg to act as the "head".
3. Next cut out Batman's shoes and underwear using black foam and paste them onto the peg using glue. Cut out a small rectangular shape using yellow foam for Batman's "belt" and glue it on.

4. For Batman's cape, cut out a small rectangle from a piece of black cloth. Then use double sided tape to secure it behind Batman's "head", i.e. on the black circle foam.
5. Lastly, tape a piece of magnet onto the back of Batman's "head" or black circle foam.

There you go, this is your completed Batman peg magnet. :)
